The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has denied that its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, met with APC presidential flag bearer Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and endorsed him.
Some media outlets reported that Tinubu and his wife Oluremi met with the RCCG leader on Sunday at the Redemption Camp.
According to the reports, Adeboye had no objections to the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket. The RCCG, on the other hand, said in a statement that no such meeting had ever taken place.
A meeting between Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, and former Lagos State Governor Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the Redemption Camp a few days prior, where our esteemed father in the Lord was said to have supported the preferred candidature of the party to which former Governor Tinubu belongs, was reported by some news outlets, according to their statement.
Please be advised that Pastor E.A. Adeboye is bound to speak for the Christian community only in matters of faith, and that he will not speak on behalf of the Christian community on matters of public policy.
In Nigeria’s 2023 general elections, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the RCCG have not and will not endorse any candidate.
“Daily Post’s story is a hoax.” Journalists who spread false information about Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the RCCG will face the full force of the law if they do so again, according to a statement issued by the RCCG.
