According to sources in Italy, Chelsea has agreed to buy Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic on a free transfer at the conclusion of the season.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave the title contenders.
Perisic has agreed to a deal with Chelsea, according to Sport Mediaset through Sempte Inter.
The Italian club has so far only been ready to offer him a deal with a salary of €4.5 million for the next two years, despite his desire for a salary of €6 million.
It is unclear whether Chelsea have met this, but it appears that they have given more than Inter in order to entice him to join.
According to Italian writer Sandro Sabatini, Perisic has an almost finalized agreement with Chelsea.
“As a result, Inter’s ability to enhance the contract offer, which is presently €4.5 million for two years, would be eliminated.”
“Perisic has already made a deal with Chelsea: the medical tests and final paperwork to confirm the agreement are still pending, but if the Croatian does not travel to Chelsea, we may witness a fantastic twist.”
Chelsea were linked with a January bid for the Croatian after Ben Chilwell’s injury disrupted their season, but the transfer never materialized.
Perisic joined Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015 and spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Bayern Munich, with London looking to be his next location.
