Fire Consumes Businesses and Properties in Computer Village

A fire outbreak has consumed valuables and properties worth millions of Naira at the popular Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.
The incident which occured at 18, Otigba Street of the Area was said to have destroyed some properties in a Shopping complex in the early hours of Monday.
According to reports the fire was quickly subdued by men of the Lagos State fire fighters.
The spokesperson of Lagos state police command CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu confirmed the incident.
He narrated: “There was a fire incident at 18, Otigba Street, Computer Village, Ikeja early hour of today. The fire engulfed a shopping complex.
He added that,
“As soon as the report was received, firefighters were contacted and they arrived immediately. Policemen were drafted there to protect the Fire fighters and others.
“The fire has been put out successfully. No life was lost in the incident. However, valuable property which estimates are not yet known were destroyed”, he concluded.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be assertained by Officials but local sources say it may be from electrical spark and possibly some wrong connections.
A witness identified as Afeez said “people were not much were the fire started. I think it’s one wire that spark because I came to buy something this early morning then I hear Kpa Kpa( sound) before the fire started to burn.
Fire fighters were still on ground to get the cause of the fire as at the time of filling this report.
