Former President Goodluck Jonathan has declined offers to run for president in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), after a group of cattle breeders paid N100 million for the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms.
“It has come to our attention that a group has supposedly acquired Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms from the All Progressives Congress APC in the name of former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,” Ikechukwu said.
“We want to be clear: Dr. Jonathan was completely unaware of this bid and did not authorize it.”
“We want to make it apparent that if the former President intended to run for office, he would declare his intentions to the public and not enter through the back door.”

“While we appreciate the huge demand from a cross-section of Nigerians for Dr. Jonathan to run for President in 2023, we want to make it clear that he has not committed himself to this request.”
“It is considered an insult to his person to purchase a presidential ambition form in the name of Dr. Jonathan without his authorization, considering the position he has held in this country.” As a result, the general public is urged to reject it,” the statement stated.
