Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC Presidential Flagbearer for the 2023 elections, on receiving the party’s nomination, stating that he has his entire support.
“Having won the election, he has our complete and unwavering support,” added Buhari.
“Our party must now unite behind our candidate to win the 2023 elections so that our government can continue to secure our communities, expand our economy, and combat corruption.”
According to a statement from his media adviser, Garba Shehu, the president called for party unity following a contentious primary contest.
“During the primaries, there were factions and differences among the candidates, and now that the process has concluded, our party must present a united face,” he stated.
“In this way, the APC will remain the party best able to deliver on the Nigerian people’s priorities. Now is the time to conclude the process.
“Because we can all agree that the APC is the party most capable of delivering on the Nigerian people’s priorities. But in order to demonstrate that we can do this task, we must band together.
“We built a movement in 2013 that transcends individuals. Together, we made history by becoming the first party in our nation’s history to dethrone the ruling party and catapult our candidate to the presidency through a peaceful democratic transfer of power.
“We are confident that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will protect and enhance this democratic achievement and legacy,” He is the ideal candidate for Nigeria’s ambitions because he is the APC’s candidate and remains under our party’s leadership.
Nigeria is capable of achieving greatness and achieving its destiny in Africa and the world.
The spirit of the presidential candidates was the highlight of our party’s spectacular convention, and it is from among them that we have picked the most popular leader.
“I acknowledge and applaud the enthusiasm and self-assurance of our party members.
“I also applaud the delegates for making the correct decision that led to the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our candidate.”
