Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Touré has been offered a full-time role at Tottenham‘s academy.
As he worked for his Uefa A Licence in December, the three-time Premier League winner has spent time with the team.
Football Association of Wales certified that coach Yaya Touré completed his coaching course this summer and will be assigned to a specific age group.
After a brief time with Qingdao Huanghai in 2019, he hasn’t played professionally since, but he did train with League Two side Leyton Orient before the 2020-21 season.
In the beginning of 2021, he worked with Chris Ramsey at Queens Park Rangers.
His previous coaching positions included stints with Olimpik Donetsk of the Ukrainian Premier League and Akhmat Grozny of the Russian Premier League.
His brother, Kolo, is Leicester’s first-team coach, while Yaya has been helping out at Tottenham’s youth program. It is possible that Jermain Defoe will join him at Tottenham, where he plans to finish his coaching education at his previous club.
