Rafael Nadal is certain that he can reach the Wimbledon semi-finals on Wednesday, despite new questions about his condition.

On Monday, the 36-year-old Spaniard fought Botic van de Zandschulp at the All England Club with strapping over his abdomen.

He won a 14th French Open last month with his ailing left foot anesthetized before undergoing life-saving surgery.

Nadal refuses to address whether or not he has a new physical problem.

“I’m too fatigued to go on and on about my body and the problems I’m experiencing. I’d rather not discuss that at this time “Nadal made the comment.

“All respect to the other competitors. My health permits me to keep going and fight for what I want for the time being.”

There hasn’t been a calendar Grand Slam by a man since 1969, when Rod Laver achieved it.

With victories against Lorenzo Sonego and Van de Zandschulp, Nadal has advanced to the quarterfinals for the eighth time in his career, after each of his opening two rounds required four sets.

When he takes against Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, he will attempt to reach the semi-finals for the eighth time.

For the first time in his career, the American is in the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam and has yet to lose a set.

While Rafael Nadal was out with a broken rib, the 24-year-old American beat him in the final of the Indian Wells Masters.

When he lost that match, his winning streak had come to an end, forcing him to take a six-week break before the clay court season began.

Nadal, who Fritz’s mother played against at Wimbledon in 1977, signified all-out attack, according to Fritz’s mother.

If I were facing someone who was expected to win, “I wouldn’t really second-guess my strokes,” he remarked.

“One of my thoughts might be, “Should I take this risk, or should I be conservative?” Rafa makes it easier to constantly go for the aggressive option and play a more free-flowing game.”

Nick Kyrgios or Cristian Garin will face off in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals.

Although Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic were both in the draw, Kyrgios has been the most talked about player.

In 2014, he stunned Rafael Nadal with a 144th-place rating, making a mockery of his stature at the time.

This year’s Wimbledon quarter-finalist, who is 27 years old, has made it through two five-set matches while collecting up $14,000 in penalties.

He has also showcased some breathtaking shot-making, taking his aces count past the 100 mark and hitting a total of 257 winners over four rounds.

Many people are outraged, Kyrgios said. “I sit here today in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon again, and I just know there’s so many people who are so upset,” Kyrgios added.

Alex de Minaur of Australia was beaten in four hours and 34 minutes by 43rd-ranked Garin in a grueling last-16 match.

Simona Halep, the defending women’s singles champion, will face American Amanda Anisimova in the quarterfinals.

Halep, coached by Patrick Mouratoglou, lost just three games in the final round against fourth-seeded Paula Badosa.

Despite missing the 2021 championships due to injury, the Romanian has made it to the quarterfinals for a fifth time at the All England Club.

After defeating Halep in the quarterfinals, Anisimova is back in the last eight of a Slam for the first time since making the semi-finals of the French Open in 2019.

Last month, Halep overcame the American in Bad Homburg on grass.

Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia takes on Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in the other quarterfinal of the day.

In 2021, Tomljanovic made it all the way to the final eight before losing to eventual champion Ashleigh Barty.

Rybakina, who was born in Russia, hasn’t dropped a set as she advanced to the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the second time in three years.

In other words, “It’s a gift.”
Rybakina, who is six feet (1.84 metres) tall and still resides in Moscow, has smashed 29 aces in the competition thus far.

She served at a blistering 122 mph (196 kph) in Monday’s victory over Petra Martic, the tournament’s second-fastest server.

“I have never compared myself to anyone else. I just get a feeling that I was born with it. Fast and agile, I’m a towering figure “Rybakina made the comment.
