Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has dissolved the state executive council with immediate effect.
Wike, who announced the breakup in a statement issued by his Special Assistant Media, also fired his Chief of Staff and Senior Special Assistant (Protocol).
“His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, thanks the members of the Rivers State Executive Council for their service and commitment to the state’s growth.”
“He has also wished them the best of luck in all of their future endeavors,” according to the statement.
All previous members of the State Executive Council were directed by the governor to give over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
