What DSS Found at Tukur Mamu’s Home and Offices

Tukur Mamu arrested

On Thursday night, the Department of State Services (DSS) revealed that officers had searched Tukur Mamu’s home and offices in Kaduna, finding numerous items of interest.

According to a statement released by DSS Spokesperson Dr. Peter Afunanya, incriminating documents including military equipment were discovered during the search conducted by “relevant security authorities.”

The victim’s negotiator’s home and workplace had a big amount of cash in various foreign currencies, which was announced by the security agency.

Afunanya stated, “So far, appropriate security services have executed legal search warrants on Mamu’s apartment and office. Evidence, including military equipment, was found during the procedures and is being analyzed.

Large sums of money in various currencies and denominations, as well as financial instruments, fall under the category of “other items.

A DSS spokesman said, “While further investigations continue, Mamu will, sure, have a day in court,” without specifying when Mamu would appear in court.

Remember when on September 6, 2022, Egyptian authorities arrested Mamu, publisher of Desert Herald and self-appointed mediator for victims of the March 17 train bombing between Abuja and Kaduna? He was flown directly to Nigeria the next day, on September 7.

As soon as he landed at Aminu Kano International Airport, he was transferred to Abuja and turned over to the DSS.

Considering that Mamu is suspected of collecting a ransom of N2 billion from the families of the train victims taken hostage by terrorists, he is likely to be prosecuted with terrorism and being an accessory to abduction.

He will certainly face criminal charges for his alleged involvement in the ransom payment to and distribution among terrorists, as well as his alleged knowledge of terrorist hideouts.
