Chelsea formally announced Todd Boehly as the club’s new owner on Saturday morning.
The Premier League giants revealed through their website that arrangements had been completed for the new ownership group led by Todd Boehly to buy the West London club.
Following the conclusion of his £3.5 billion deal, Boehly replaced Roman Abramovich as Chelsea’s new owner.
His group was identified as the preferred bidder to take over Chelsea by the Raine Group, the US bank who are supervising the transaction.
“Chelsea Football Club can confirm that arrangements have been reached for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter, and Hansjoerg Wyss, to buy the Club,” Chelsea said in a statement.
“Subject to all requisite regulatory clearances, the deal is scheduled to close in late May.” More information will be made available at that time.”
