On Wednesday, four New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidates in Osun State publicly endorsed Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement, candidates Clement Bamigbola (NNPP, Osun Central Senatorial zone), Bolaji Akinyode (NNPP, Osun West Senatorial zone), Olalekan Fabayo (NNPP, Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency), and Oluwaseyi Ajayi (NNPP, Ijesa South Federal Constituency) said they were abandoning NNPP presidential candidate Senator Rabiu Kwa

Bamigbola, speaking to the media on behalf of the other candidates, said, “In view of the prevailing circumstances within our party and after due consultation and approval of our supporters, we wish to announce and declare our support and endorsement to the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.”

“This is because of our frustration with the party’s national leadership and the incapacity of party stakeholders to cooperate in a way that respects the rule of law and promotes democracy within the party,” they wrote.

He went on to assure Nigerians that a Tinubu presidency would bring about good government and the benefits of democracy.

Senator Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, “has the passion for good government and the capacity to deliver rewards of democracy, which may be realized under a new Nigeria,” Bamigbola added.
