Manchester United Champions League football Hopes Shrinks

Manchester United Champions League football hopes has been shrinked again after loosing 1:0 to Wolves on Monday night.
Superb Wolves record first win in 42 years at Old Trafford  after Joao Moutinho strike late ensure the visitors ran away with a deserved three point.
Ralf Rangnick have now suffered his first loss at Old Trafford following a shambolic display by his team causing another set back to their Champions League spot finish on the table.
United are places seventh with 31 points through 19games. They have played a game less than some other teams.
Iterim manager Ralf Rangnick admitted after the game that taking over the United Job was not going to be an easy task.
Wolves created lot of chances and had good possession of the ball for the better time of the game, which has now brought to question the effectiveness of Rangnick 4-2-2-2 formation set up.
Man United all time goalscorer Wayne Rooney believes the 4-2-2-2 formation will crumble when United play better teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and others.
Speaking after the game Rangnick replied a reporter that he knew the United Job would be a “difficult” job.
He said, “There was a reason why they contacted me and signed me, so I knew from the start it would not be an easy job to find the best possible balance with regards to the players we have offensively and defensively.
“It was important for me we don’t concede that many goals. But again today against a good team, one of the better teams in possession of the ball and not an easy team to create chances [against] ourselves, it still showed we are struggling and we have quite a few steps to take.
“As I said, it’s always a question of balance, how do you need to create chances offensively and how compact do you have to be to defend your own goal? And this is what it’s all about. Finding the best possible players for the formation and hoping every player plays in his best possible position.”
