Academic Staff Union of Nigeria has announced that Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has ended their strike (ASUU).
The institution’s registrar, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, announced Thursday, August 18, as the date for resumption in a circular titled “Release to Staff and Students: Continuation of the First Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Session.”
Academic activities for the 2021/2022 session are scheduled to begin tomorrow, as stated in the circular.
Ogunleye announced that the revised academic calendar for the semester is on its way and urged faculty and students to comply with the directive.
Based on instructions from our guest, the University will resume classes for the fall semester of the 2021–2022 school year on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
The registrar also wished students a trouble-free semester, saying, “On behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. M. 0. Liasu, I welcome all students back to the campus.”
As students may recall, the administration previously declared May 26, 2022 as the day classes would resume.
Although management had ordered the unions to end their strike, the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Non-Academic Staff Union, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) all refused to do so.
