Sunday Igbho’s aides Demand N100m

Aides of the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igbho have sued the DSS (Department of State Services) demanding a sum of #100m for breach of their fundamental human rights and publically calling them criminals.

The suit was filled on Wednesday at  the federal high before justice Obiora Egwuatu a vacation judge as the court is still on recess.

Igbho aides in the suit, seek a court declaration on their detention by the DSS beyond 48hours and also for without a conviction of a court, declaring them as criminals.

Furthermore, they also requested a sum of N100m for damages for what they say is a compensation for breach of their constitutional rights.

However, Idowu Awo the SS lawyer during the court preceedings told the court that his case file was stolen from a member of his team who was supposed to bring it to the court by some criminals bus, kwown as “one chance” upon boarding.

Recall that, reports had it that a total of 12 aides of Igbho was arrested by the DSS on july 1 at the residence of the Yoruba nation agitator. Weeks later, the court ordered the release of the aides but the DSS on the other hand freed eight and after much clamour two others were freed.

Recently according to punch newspaper “In a suit no FHC/ABJ/CR/305/2021, which was dated August 31, 2021, the DSS through its lawyer S.M. Bello, filed five terrorism charges against Noah Oyetunji and Amudat Babatunde (female).  The remaining two aides of Igbho in the DSS detention.

The DSS alleged that Oyetunji was in possession of fire arms for terrorism-related activities while Babatunde promoted terroristic acts through her Facebook account.

Nevertheless, the court is yet to fixed a date for the hearing.
