West Brom, a club in the Championship, fired manager Steve Bruce on Monday after only eight months in the position.
The 61-year-old manager, formerly of Newcastle United, signed an 18-month deal at the Hawthorns in February but won only eight of 32 matches during his tenure.
The club announced, “West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with manager Steve Bruce.”
Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence, and Alex Bruce (Bruce’s son) were all members of the Hawthorns’ backroom crew, and they’ve all recently departed.
The team appreciates Steve Bruce and his coaching staff for their hard work since his February arrival.
A new manager is being sought out and interviewed by the club at this time.
After 13 games in the Championship, the former Manchester United defender’s West Brom team is now ranked 22nd. During his long management tenure, he led the team to four promotions to the Premier League.
