A fire outbreak in the popular Ogbe-Ijoh Market located in Warri South Local Goverment Area of Delta State has destroyed Goods worth millions of naira, while some shops have been burnt down by the fire.
No report of any lost life but Goods and other valuables were destroyed by the fire which started around 2pm on Sunday.
The market according to some traders is one of the biggest fish markets across the State.
Videos from the scene posted online by witnesses saw some traders, Sellers and people running around trying to pack some remnant of their goods before the fire could catch up on them.
Up until now, the main cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed.
A local source said the fire started when a woman tried to put fire on a dustbin gathered from the market, the fire soon spread from the first to one of the store besides it before the fire became uncontrollable.
Meanwhile, some traders and onlookers gave much credit to the fire fighters as they were “timely” to put off the fire before it could also cause more aharm than that already recorded.
