FEG Vows to Conduct Anambra Governorship Election

Tension in Anambra State as the Federal Government has vowed to deal with anyone who tries to disturb the free flow of the November 6, 2021, Anambra governorship election.
The warning was given by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno at a meeting of the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).
He noted that the security agencies had been ordered to deal with any person who may want to disrupt the electoral process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has said that the election will hold despite claims that it process will be disrupted.
Yakubu had noted that non-sensitive materials to be used and training of personnel for the election have been completed.
The Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had given the Federal Government an Ultimatum to “unconditionally” release its Leader Nnamdi Kanu, which failed to do so, the South East region will be Locked down for one week by the group.
The group is of the standpoint that  Kanu has been pleaded non-guilty by the court and that he has not committed any offence known to any law.
Kanu is yet to be released, and the Federal Government continue to stand by INEC insisting the election will hold as planned.
