Thomas Tuchel has expressed his opinions on Cristiano Ronaldo while a deal to Chelsea is being considered.
There are reports that Jorge Mendes, the agent for Cristiano Ronaldo, met with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly to discuss a possible transfer for the Manchester United superstar.
Manchester United is outraged by rumors that Chelsea is interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Last summer, the 37-year-old signed a two-year contract with a one-year extension option with Manchester United. In contrast to Ronaldo, who scored 24 goals in all competitions, Manchester United as a team experienced a dismal campaign.
The Red Devils, who entered the 2021/22 season with title aspirations, finished in sixth place with their worst points total in Premier League history. And with the new manager Erik ten Hag’s poor start to his first window in command, speculation over the future of the Portuguese icon has began to increase.
Earlier in the week, it was reported that Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, had contacted Bayern Munich, leading the German champions to respond to the rumors. And on Saturday, reports surfaced of a meeting between the super-agent and Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly.
According to The Athletic, Boehly met down with Mendes and discussed Ronaldo’s impending future. A United source told Mirror Football, “Cristiano is not for sale.” This was in response to rumors that last season’s top scorer would be moving to Stamford Bridge. We desire and completely anticipate that he will be with us next season.”
Having successfully finalised the takeover from Roman Abramovich, Boehly is eager to make at least one marquee signing this summer. Although there have been no reports of a formal offer, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel would undoubtedly be interested in acquiring a player who he once said would help any team in the world.
Last August, just before his comeback to the Premier League, Tuchel joked: “I believe it would be detrimental for him to play for any of our competitors! If he ends up in the Premier League, it will demonstrate the competitiveness and difficulty of the Premier League.
“In addition, it will make our lives more difficult. This is the first time I’ve heard it, so let’s see what happens.”
He also talked highly of Ronaldo and the impact his departure from Juventus will have on their team. “Time will tell, but I think it is no secret that any club in the world without Cristiano [Ronaldo] is worse in certain aspects of the game,” he stated prior to last year’s Champions League match against Juventus.
Thomas Tuchel has already praised Ronaldo in glowing terms.
Furious After transfer talks between Chelsea and Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United retorts vehemently.
After the success of Frenkie de Jong, Manchester United selects its next transfer target.
Liverpool is “anticipated” to indicate transfer intent after Leeds’ £26 million offer was rejected.
“Now that [he is] in the Premier League and Champions League, they have lost a major champion, a major reference point, and a major personality. You can still win games and remain a formidable squad without Cristiano Ronaldo. This also holds true.”
As a result of Romelu Lukaku’s impending return to Inter Milan, Tuchel appears to be in the market for a center forward to assist Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. And the German manager has already indicated that all of his players should be inspired by Ronaldo’s illustrious career.
“I believe many players may look up to Ronaldo’s skill, mentality, and career,” he said in response to a question about Havertz drawing inspiration from the legendary scorer.
