After six successful seasons with Liverpool, the Senegalese attacker is moving on to the Bundesliga.

As he leaves Anfield, he has everyone’s best wishes and a full collection of medals from the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Emirates FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

Since joining the club in 1996, Mane has scored 120 goals, provided 38 assists and brought countless smiles to the faces of the team’s supporters.

‘He’s a machine,’ Klopp wrote back in April. A “legend” is what he’s done and what he’s doing for this team.

Mane was a significant player in Klopp’s first full season in charge of Liverpool, helping them to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and a return to the Champions League.

As a member of Klopp’s lethal front line, his levels would grow year after year, as would the team’s.

He scored 20 goals in all competitions for Liverpool last season, including 10 in the Champions League as they advanced to the Kyiv final before losing to Real Madrid.

He won the European club football’s top award a year later, however, after staring in the win over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

With 22 goals in the Premier League, Mane won the Golden Boot alongside Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the Champions League success.

Personal and societal experiences abound during the next campaign.

Klopp’s team made history by winning the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years, and the 2019 CAF African Player of the Year was a key part of that success.

During the 2019-20 season, when Liverpool won the Premier League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup, Sadio Mane scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists.
