Another Four Students Have Been Kidnapped In Nasarawa State

The rate of Kidnapping in the country has taken a new shape as another four Student of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) have been reportedly Kidnapped by gunmen.
A statement by the institution revealed that the students were Kidnapped around 11:30pm when the Gunmen attacked a community located close to the school.
The institution Head, Information and Public Relations Unit, Abubakar Ibrahim, on Friday said in a statement, “The unfortunate kidnap incident took place at a community, Mararraba, located close to the University.
“Consequently, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, on behalf of the management of the institution, expressed his profound outrage at the unfortunate development and condemned it in strong terms and demand for the immediate release of those kidnapped”.
The VC said Kidnapping of students has been a major problem of low Education in Nasarawa State.
A report by SBM Intelligence published 6th September, 2021 revealed that,
“At least 1409 students have been kidnapped from their schools in Nigeria since the first incident in the country’s latest school abduction epidemic which started in March 2020. In the 19 incidents up until the latest kidnap in Zamfara state, 17 teachers have also been kidnapped alongside their students, and at least ₦220 million has been paid out as ransoms. Unfortunately, 16 of the victims have died in these incidents.
It’s no longer news that zamfara State have witnessed the highest number of Kidnapped school children.
Many parents is now scared of sending their children to school in the state as they fear their loved ones could be Kidnapped.
However, President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated that his administration is determined and committed to bringing an end to the security challenges in the country.
The president recently said he’s optimistic Nigeria will prevail over the security challenges facing the country.
