Another Fire Outbreak In Rivers State

Just in one week Rivers State has witnessed four fire outbreak some of which have claimed the lives of the residents and many are rendered homeless.
The latest fire outbreak occured at the Elechi waterside in Port Harcourt a small overcrowded settlement where most of the buildings in there are made of woods and  bamboo.
According to reports many of the homes were burnt as they connect to each other closely leaving some half burnt with their luggages.
The incident which occured on Sunday was said to have been caused by an electrical spark from one of the building that led to an inferno which automatically spread to other buildings due to proximity in the buildings.
Three other fire outbreaks in the State was said to have been caused by illegally refined petroleum products which have been on the increase in the State of recent.
The Bonny/Bille/Nembe jetty in Port Harcourt which gutted with fire on November 22, killing over 5 residents and burning goods worth millions naira was said to have been caused by illegally refined petroleum transporters who hide fuel in the boats to avoid police arrests.
