A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of Lil Tjay in New Jersey.
Tjay was shot and killed by Mohamed Konate, 27, during an alleged robbery attempt, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, who announced Konate’s arrest on Wednesday.
A buddy of Tjay’s, Antoine Boyd, was reportedly shot once during the incident.
Konate allegedly tried to rob Tjay, Boyd, and Jeffrey Valdez in Edgewater shortly after midnight, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
In addition to the three counts of attempted murder in the first degree, he now faces three counts of armed robbery in the first degree, as well as numerous weapons-related crimes.
A second degree felony charge of unlawful possession of a weapon was filed against Valdez and Boyd, who were both arrested.
Prosecutors say the two are now being held in Bergen County Jail pending their initial appearance in court..
According to reports, Konate is being held in New Jersey pending extradition.
