Okada, have reportedly attacked Same Global Estate

Following the death of two friends, dozens of motorcyclists known as Okada are claimed to have entered the Same Global Estate in the heart of Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Lokogoma is a residential area in Abuja that is part of the Cadastral Zone. Although the area is currently being built, it is only 30 minutes from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and 25 minutes from the city center. According to the Guardian, the incident started yesterday in the region when a motorist hit two Okada riders and ran inside the estate for cover. According to a witness, the blow was meant to apprehend the fleeing motorist.

According to the Witness, the quick participation of the military and FCT police officers saved the day. The turmoil erupted after a fatal hit-and-run vehicle vs motorbike incident at 1:30 p.m. yesterday in Same Global Estate, Dakwo, Galadimawa, according to FCT police spokesman DSP Josephine Adeh, who denied that houses were set on fire. “The command guarantees civilians that normalcy in the region has been restored,” he says. The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Babaji Sunday, went on the site with operatives for on-the-spot inspection. It is also worth noting that, contrary to common myth, no homes were destroyed.

“The CP reminds residents of the command’s commitment to the safety of life and property inside the FCT under his charge, while asking well-meaning members of the public to stay calm and carry on their legitimate enterprises without fear of harassment or molestation from any quarter.”

He advised citizens to be watchful and report any suspicious or unusual occurrences to the police via the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883, as well as the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) desk at 0902 222 2352.
