Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack abductees

The remaining 23 hostages from the March 28 terrorist attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train have been released.

Secretary of the Chief of Defense Staff Action Committee(CDSAC) Professor Usman Yusuf released a statement on the matter on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. local time, he made the following announcement: “I am pleased to announce to the nation and the world that at 1600Hrs. (4:00pm), today, 5-10-2022, the seven-man Presidential Committee assembled by the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General LE O Irabor, secured the release and took custody of all the 23 remaining passengers held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists following the attack on the Abuja to Kaduna train attack.”

The Nigerian military, led by the CDS, deserves much credit for planning and executing this successful operation. The Federal Ministry of Transportation and other related security agencies made significant contributions to this operation.

President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR’s (Nigeria’s current leader and the country’s military’s head of state) unflinching backing is what made this happen.

All of us on this committee appreciate the opportunity to help others by our participation in this humanitarian operation.
