24 People Rescued By Zamfara State Police Command

Efforts of the Zamafara state  police command in curbing Kidnapping and Banditary seems to be yeilding some positive results as 24 people abducted by bandits in Shinkafi and Tsafe Local Goverment of the State have been rescued in different parts of the state.
A student of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda was and five other students of a Goverment day school was also among those rescued.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana, announced this while briefing reporters on Tuesday at the command headquarters in Gusau.
The commissioner in a statement explained that the victims who had spent about 60 days in the hands of their abductors were rescued unconditionally and has been re-united with their families.
He narrated that the students were abducted on their way back from writing the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
He added that operatives deployed to the Gusau Tsafe – Funtua Road rescued 11 passengers who were abducted by bandits while travelling at night in two vehicles.
Elkana, therefore, warned travellers to desist from entering the State at night stating that it’s good to observe precautions.
ZAMFARA State has recent become a safe haven for kidnappers and bandits which has been a major security challenge the State is facing.
School Children and young adults have been the most vulnerable of this illicit act perpetuated by devilish hearts who are in for their selfish reasons not minding the pain it will cost families and Victims.
