19 Dead, 26 Injured In Kano Auto Crash

Tragic  scene in Kano as not less than 19 People were confirmed dead from a horrible accident which took place around Kano Campus of the Nigerian Law School, yesterday.

The accident according to Officials a minor and an elderly man was also involved in the auto crash with a total of 19 loosing their lives while 26 others were severely injured.

It was also reported that the minor was a baby in the hands his mother, they both lost their lives.

According to reports a total 45 people were involved in the accident being passengers of two separate commercial buses. Both commercial bus was said to have burst into flames after collision.

An eyewitness noted that both bus were on “full speed” so it became hard for the drivers to quickly manover when they came close to each other.

However, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Kano Sector Commander, Zubairu Mato, have also confirmed the the accident in which he said excessive speed was the major cause of the accident.

“The accident involved 45 passengers, out of which 14 adult males, four adult females, and one male child lost their lives, while 26 others sustained serious injuries,” he narrated.

He further noted that those injured have been taken to Kura General Hospital while bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives at Bebeji Police Division.

He advised motorist to be careful while driving and to always obey traffic rules.
