Romelu Lukaku was overcome with emotion when Inter Milan and Chelsea agreed to a season-long loan deal for the striker. Just a year ago, he signed for Chelsea in a deal worth a whopping £97.5 million. In his second stay at Stamford Bridge, Romelu Lukaku was unable to find the back of the net.

With just 15 goals in all competitions, he was out of favor with Thomas Tuchel, who was furious with him after an interview he gave.

The 29-year-old, on the other hand, is returning to Inter, where he had two productive seasons.

When his lawyer, Sebastien Ledure, broke the news that Chelsea had agreed to a deal with Serie A side, Romelu Lukaku reportedly burst into tears.

When Inter president Steven Zhang tried to renegotiate the financial package on Monday, negotiations broke down.

Both clubs struck an agreement totaling £10.3 million, which included a loan fee of £6.9 million and bonuses totaling £3.4 million.

To ensure his return to the San Siro, Lukaku has agreed to take a 30% wage cut.

As soon as he passes a medical exam next week (to finalize the transfer), Inter will cover all of his earnings.

In 2019, Romelu Lukaku joined Inter Milan from Manchester United.

In his first season, he scored 34 goals in all competitions, and the next season, Inter won the Scudetto thanks to his 30 goals.
