18 travellers have been abducted at Ifira-Akoko/Idoani road in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo state on Wednesday.
It was said that the kidnappers shot into the air to scare passengers before taking them away into a nearby bush.
According to channels television, the incident was confirmed on Thursday by “The Commander of Ondo State Security Outfit, codenamed Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye,”
However, Adeleye said that 14 of the victims have now been rescued by men of the agency as efforts are geared towards setting those remaining free.
