Aston Villa have confirmed a loan deal of Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho until the end of the season with an option to buy.
It’s believed that Steven Gerrard is the main force that lure the Brazilian to the Villa Park having played alongside him during his playing days at Liverpool.
This loan deal is one nobody sees coming but the reality now is that the 29 year-old is coming back to the Premier league after not having a good spell in Spain.
A statement by the club Official website reads, “Aston Villa and FC Barcelona have agreed terms for Philippe Coutinho to spend the rest of this season on loan at Villa Park.
“The agreement, which is subject to the player completing a medical and receiving a work permit, also includes an option to buy and Philippe will travel to Birmingham in the next 48 hours.
Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool for £145million in 2018 ever since he has struggled to see a starting line up.
