Three members of the same family has been killed in the Dong Community, located in the North Local Government Area of Plateau state at a mining site on Saturday.
According to reports their killers is suspected to be herdsmen who killed in total four persons and Left others severely injured.
The death of the victims was publicly known when residents of the community took to the streets on Sunday blocking roads in a display of protest while seeking justice for the deceased.
A statement by Dachung Musa Bagos, a lawmaker representing Jos south Federal Constituency confirmed the horrible incident while condemning the killings of the armless citizens.
“I am enraged by the daily killings within and around my constituency. I want to state emphatically that I will continue to talk about the callous attitude of these known criminals among us until they are all gotten rid of finally”, Dachung said.
However, it was gathered that attack of such has been common in the area which is the main reason residents want the perpetrators apprended and prosecuted according to a protester.
The rate at which innocent citizens are been killed in the country is alarming.
A compilation of media report cases of the death in country posted by Premium Times yesterday, revealed that, not less than 486 people were killed in the first three weeks of the new year 2022
“Over 80 per cent of the killings were carried out by terror groups that have terrorised the North-west and North-central zones while about 50 per cent of the total killings occurred in Niger State, North-central Nigeria”, the report added.
Details of the report made reference to at least 220 people that were reportedly killed in Niger State between January 1 and 17, announced by the State Governor, Sani Bello.
Recalled that from 4th January 2022 news broke that the Bukkuyum and Anka Community in Zamfara State were turned to a desert by suspected bandits and Bokoharam group.
Report has it that not less than 100 people was killed in the two Community alone. Sources revealed that at least four villages were razed by the terrorists group.
