The governing All Progressives Congress (APC) halted the sale of its expression of interest and nomination forms to hopefuls seeking for positions in the 2023 elections on Tuesday, May 10.
At the conclusion of the sales, three governors elected on the APC platform will have no opposition in the party’s primary.
Reports has it learned that, in contrast to other governors, Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Babagana Zulum (Borno), and AbdulRaham AbdulRasaq (Kwara) have no primary rivals.
Meanwhile, Governors Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe) are facing re-election challenges.
Ibikunle Amosun, the immediate former governor of Ogun State and a presidential hopeful, is supporting his 2019 candidate, Abiodun Akinlade, against Gov. Abiodun.
