Brilliant Andy Murray defeated Tiafoe of France in a first round meeting at the European Open in Antwerp making it another win over a top 50 ranked player.
After hours of play, Murray was able to grind out a 7-6(2) (7)6-7 7-6(8) win to ensure he record another win over top 50 ranked player in the World.
Andy Murray will now face second seed Diego Schwartzmann after his mammoth first round win over Tiafoe.
This is the fifth time Murray will take on a top 50 ranked player in 2021 starting from Benoit Paire at Queen’s, Nikoloz Basilashvili at Wimbledon, Ugo Humbert in Metz and Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells and his latest against Tiafoe at the European Open.
