Sokoto State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) frontrunner Aminu Tambuwal has stepped down in favor of Atiku Abubakar.
“I, Aminu Tambuwal, having consulted widely throughout the length and breadth of this country… consulted so many leaders and supporters, I have come to the firm conviction that time may come for us to make sacrifices for the good of our people,” he said when asked to make a special announcement.
“I have come to the patriotic conclusion that, to the glory of God Almighty, and in order for us to close ranks, I have decided to step down from my aspiration and appeal to my supporters to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.”
