An Interim Management Committee (IMC) chaired by 27 members was disbanded by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.

After a private meeting in the Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers of Government House with the 27 LGA chiefs, Uzodinma issued a statement to journalists in Owerri through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Oguwuike Nwachuku.

Gov. Uzodimma congratulated them for the work they’ve done since he took office two and a half years ago and for their loyalty,” according to a statement from the state administration.

Imo State’s Local Government Area elections may be held at any time, he said, and he needed to designate Sole Administrators to oversee the process.

Uzodimma also informed the disbanded IMC chairmen that his government would not hesitate to employ their skills in other sectors in which they would be judged competent as APC members, according to a source familiar with the conversation.

Willie Okoliogo, the chairman of the Oru West Council and the chairman of ALGON in Imo State, promised to be loyal to the government of Uzodimma and APC in his response.
