Abdulmumin Jibrin, a former member of the House of Representatives and the leader of Bola Tinubu support organizations, unexpectedly resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday.

According to reports, Bola Tinubu’s campaign Director-General left the ruling party for personal reasons.

“I did my best for APC.” It’s past time to move on. Insha Allah, I will declare my new political party within the next 24 hours. “I will issue an official statement in due course,” Jibrin stated in a widely shared Twitter post.

This happened just hours after the former chairman of the House Appropriations Committee praised the APC as a fantastic party.

“HON ABDULMUMIN JIBRIN KOFA CONTINUES POLITICAL CONSULTATION IN KANO in favour of our great party APC, political goals of Governor Ganduje, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his good self in Kano,” he previously wrote.

According to The Cable, Jibrin chose to leave the ruling APC after a disagreement with Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to reports, the executive director of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) intended to run for a seat in the House of Representatives, but Ganduje apparently banned him. Jibrin’s feud with Ganduje is said to have lasted five years. Jibrin was voted to the Green Chamber in both 2011 and 2015.

Later, he clashed with the leadership, leading to his suspension and expulsion from important committees in 2016.
Jibrin was re-elected in 2019, but was fired by court in what he claimed was conspiracy engineered by Ganduje.
