Super Eagles Kick Start AFCON With A Win Over Egypt.

Super Eagles of Nigeria outplayed Mohammed Salah’s Egypt in their opening African Cup of Nations (AFCON)  with a 1:0 Victory to earn a deserved three point in Cameroon.
Leicester City attacker Kelechi Ihenacho whipped in a well control pass from Aribo in the 30th minute to put smiles on the faces of millions of Nigerians.
Austin Eguavon line up a strong starting XI with Taiwo Awoniyi and Ihenacho leading the attack.
Nigeria created lots of chances which could have earned the Super Eagles more goals had it been they were converted.
Taiwo Awoniyi had a glorious chance to double Nigeria’s lead but his header struck the bar with the Egyptian goalkeeper having a slight touch to ensure the ball does not get in.
On the other hand, Egypt failed to create some decent chances however, Mohammed Salah had a chance to equalise in the second half but Troost-Ekong did well to disturb him off the ball.
On a general assessment Egypt were relatively quiet in the game with nothing spectacular to show for Liverpool’s forward Mohammed Salah.
Meanwhile, Algeria had a disappointing tournament opener as Sierra Leone held title holders to a goalles draw.
Riyad Mahrez was in action for Algeria but failed to make a difference.
