Qatar 2022: Super Eagles To Play-Offs Round

Nigeria survives the scare of the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde to advance to the playoffs rounds of the African World Cup qualifiers for Qatar 2022 after a 1:1 draw at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Tuesday.
Cape Verde played like a wounded Lion but the Super Eagles were able to soak up the pressure and threats posed by the visitors.
Victor Osimhen took the lead for the Super Eagles just in the very first minute of the game before Stopira equalised for the Blue Sharks four minutes later.
Nigeria got at least the one point needed to scale through to the next round but Cape Verde needed a win to upset the Super Eagles which they did gave a very good fight for but their best was not just enough.
Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen was brilliant for the Super Eagles posing threat on the Blue Sharks defense line leaving fans to screaming his name before he was taken off for Paul Onuachu late in the 89 minute.
Osimhen now has 19 caps, 10 goals, 5 assists in total for the Super Eagles, he sure will look up to increasing such figure in the next games for Nigeria.
Nigeria now joins other teams that have book a place for the play-offs rounds set to be played in March next year.
