Labour Party presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi promised to reorganize Nigeria during Tuesday’s Afenifere meeting in Isanya-Ogbo, the country house of Afenifere leader Chief Ayo Adebanjo.

While addressing the group, Mr. Obi spoke on his hopes for Nigeria and discussed ways in which the country can be changed into one that all Nigerians can be proud of and to which each of us can make a contribution based on our own abilities and without bias.

A source at the meeting told Vanguard, “In particular, he stressed his commitment to restructuring Nigeria, to achieve justice, equity, and speedy development.

“He thanked the Afenifere for standing with him and doing what is right for the country even when it wasn’t popular,” he said.

When campaigning for the 2023 presidential election, Obi vowed not to disappoint the Afenifere, the young, or the people of Nigeria.

In his address to the group, Pa Adebanjo explained that Obi won Afenifere over with his plan to reorganize Nigeria.

He declared, “When we went to Abuja, the Ohanaeze members told me that they have not chosen whether to support Peter Obi, because they are not a political party; I assured them that if they are not following Obi, the Afenifere will stay by him.”

According to Nwosu, “When the Igbo people stated they had not decided to join him, I reminded them that I am backing Obi because of principle and all that he pledged to do for Nigeria.”
