The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has denied any connection to the “clerics” who attended the APC vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima’s Wednesday unveiling.
They were described as looking like mechanics and artisans by the committee.
When journalists in Abuja interviewed Rev. Joseph John Hayab, CAN’s vice president (19 Northern States and Abuja) and chairman in Kaduna State, he mocked the clerics, saying they didn’t have “enough time to learn” how to wear bishop garments.
People who didn’t have enough time to learn how to dress as bishops, he claimed, were the ones who paraded at Shettima’s unveiling. Looking at their photo closely, you’ll see another Nollywood production in the making.

Employees of BAT are not required to pay for the services of mechanics or other artisans who will sew their uniforms. To add to their many ropes after this political exercise is over, but it will not diminish the need for fairness and justice that CAN is calling for.
If you’re going to do something ridiculous to prove a point, you’re going to pay for it in the long run.” It’s time for the BAT team to stop the “drama” and do what’s right.
