JJC Skillz, also known as Abdulrasheed Bello, has revealed that he and his wife, actress Funke Akindele, are separating.
On Thursday morning, JJC announced via his official Instagram handle that he and Akindele have been having marital problems for the past two years.
Since the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards on May 14, he had not been able to sit down with Akindekle, who had insisted he move out three months earlier.
I’m writing to inform you that Funke and I are no longer together. We had a wonderful time together and had two wonderful children as a result of it.
“It’s been a very trying time for us the last two years. Despite my best efforts, I believe the situation is beyond repair. Apart from AMVCA, I’ve been unable to persuade Funke to sit down and talk about the future of our relationship since I walked out at his demand months ago.
American-born twins were born in December 2018 to Akindele and JJC. Except for the rapper’s ex-wife Mello, who gave birth to his first child, Benito, who released images of the twins on social media, no one knew the children’s identities.
They haven’t even begun talking about who will have custody of the kids or what the next step in their relationship will be, according to JJC, who also explained why he decided to make the announcement of their breakup public knowledge.

A year previously, Mello had accused JJC of beating their son Benito, and she had provided court paperwork to back up her claims.
