Mrs. Ahmad urged other candidates to join forces in order for the party to win the state and federal elections  in 2023.
Aishatu Ahmad, popularly known as Binani, a female senator, has chosen the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Adamawa State.
Mrs Ahmad received 430 votes to pick the ticket, according to the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Gambo Lawal, who announced this at the end of the primary election on Friday in Yola, the state capital.
She defeated Mohammed Bindow, a former governor of the state, Nuhu Ribadu, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Abdulrazak Namdas, a member of the House of Representatives, to win the ticket.

Mr Lawal stated that a total of 1,011 votes were cast, with 975 valid votes and 36 invalid votes. He stated that Mr Ribadu received 288 votes, Mr Bindow received 103 votes, Mr Namdas received 94 votes, and Wafarninyi Theman received 21 votes.

“With the authority granted to me as Chief Returning Officer for this election, I hereby declare Aishatu Ahmad Binani the election winner.” “She is the APC’s official candidate for governor,” Mr Lawal stated. Mrs Ahmad, who represents Adamawa Central Senatorial District, expressed gratitude to the delegates in her acceptance speech.

She urged other candidates to join forces in order for the party to win the state and federal elections in 2023. “I call on all of us to ensure our party’s victory and the formation of our own government,” she said. Mrs. Ahmad also praised the electoral panel for the transparent election and the trust placed in them.
