Everton Dismiss Coach Rafa Benitez

Everton have parted ways with Rafa Benitez following a disappointing 2:1 loss to Norwich on Saturday with the club board summoning for an emergency meeting in order to determine next direction.

Everton have lost nine of their last 13 match. A loss to Norwich side who had failed to score in their last six Premier league match was too much to bear  by the fans and board.

Different flyers and posters were raised by furious Everton fans on Saturday during the loss where some wrote: “Get out of our club” others “sack the board”

The former Liverpool manager have failed to live up to expectation of the club.
A statement by the club on Sunday Afternoon read,
“Everton Football Club can confirm the departure of Rafael Benitez as First Team manager.

“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, has left the Club with immediate effect.

“An update on a permanent replacement will be made in due course.’

Benitez is Everton’s shortest serving manager with just 200 days into the club managerial dougout.

Meanwhile, Everton are just six points away from relegation zone and are places 16th with nineteen points through 19 games.

After yesterday’s defeat, to Norwich Benitez said: “I am a professional and I have enough experience.’

“I came here to fix issues that were coming from the last five years. What I have to do now is analyse the mistakes we are making and make sure we avoid that for the future. The rest is not in my hands. I just try to do my job.”

During the game a furious Everton fan ran into the pitch heading towards Benitez direction with Officials having to quickly grab the fan away from the pitch.

When ask about the fan that ran towards him Benitez noted insisted :”I didn’t see the fan. I was concentrating on the game. After I saw someone was in the middle of the pitch but that’s it.

“We are really disappointed because we lost. We are disappointed because the fans have been travelling to support the team and it’s not the ideal situation.

“But we cannot change this situation now. We have to learn because we cannot make these mistakes in the future.’

However, some report by the media is thicking former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney to take over at the Goodison park.
