Eto’o Eye Cameroon FA Presidential Seat

Samuel Eto’o Barcelona and Inter Milan Striker is optimistic he will become his countries FA president as the former Cameroon forward have reportedly submitted an official candidacy file.
Eto’o said “despite the cheating” he is sure of becoming the next Cameroon FA president.
There is report of his opposition party’s trying to plan illicit manipulations.
While, submitting his candidacy letter to the FA headquarters in Yaounde he told reporters that he has been offered a position to be the Vice president of the FA but he declined insisting he wants to be the president.
The four-time African footballer Champion seems to have the backing of good percentage of citizens in his quest for Presidency.
In September, he noted that he would build the countries football while announcing his itention to run for FA presidency.
In his playing days, the African great had loans spells in the early years of his career. But since he signed for Spanish side Mallorca in year 2000 where he scored 70 goals, he began to attract admirers from different clubs before later joining Barcelona in 2004 where he scored 130 goals in five seasons and also became the record holder for the most appearances by an African player in La Liga.
He won three La Liga titles with the Catalans giant and was influential in Barcelona’s 2006 UEFA Champions League triumph where he scored in the final.
He was named FIFAPro World XI twice 2005 and 2006.
Eto’o became the first player to win two European continental trebles when he signed for Inter Milan.
Before his retirement from international football in August 2014, He was part of the squad that won Gold Medal at the 2000 Olympics. He won the African cup of Nations with Cameroon in 2000 and 2002.
He is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, with 18 goals, and is Cameroon’s all-time leading scorer.
