Ado Aleiro, the Bandit Crowned Emir, Claims Hw was Begged to Take the Title

Ado Aleiro

Bandit Ado Aleiro, who was crowned Sarkin Fulani in Zamfara State’s Yantodo Emirate on Sunday, insisted that the Zamfara State Emirate Council bestowed the title on him freely.

DAILY POST Correspondent was listening to Deutche Welle (D.W.) Radio when he spoke with him.

Aleiro, the bandits’ kingpin, was believed to be wanted by the Katsina Police Command for kidnapping and killing innocent people.

By awarding him this title, they were hoping that he would be able to put an end to any further attacks from his troops.

However, public outcries led to the Emir’s suspension just hours after they conferred the title of Sarkin Fulani on him in the presence of the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs and other government officials.

Alero, the bandit leader, told a foreign radio station on Sunday that he didn’t ask for the title, but that the community decided it was appropriate.

This title was offered to him by the Emirate, and at first he turned it down since he didn’t want to be associated with them.

“Our leaders advised me not to reject the offer because the new emir insisted that it had to take place in his emirate; that was how I accepted it,” he stated, according to a statement.

Over 100 people were killed at Kadisau village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, and he said he did not know who was responsible for the attack. He also denied knowing who was responsible for the massacre.
